Tulsi Gabbard Sues Google

A Quick Thought.

Tulsi Gabbard: 7/29/2019

Here’s the bottom line. This is really about the unchecked power that these big tech monopolies have over our public discourse and how this is a real threat to our freedom of speech and to our fair elections.

Tulsi Gabbard

After the first Democrat debate, GoogleTrends showed Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) as the most-searched candidate of Wednesday night’s Democratic debate, after entering the event in Miami as a relatively unknown. That would have been a critical time to feed the curiosity with a targeted ad campaign to benefit from such an enormous spike in interest.

Unfortunately for Rep. Gabbard, decision-makers at Google weren’t particularly amused by her new-found popularity, and her campaign encountered a strange and unsuspected obstacle. While the searches for Gabbard were at viral levels, Google suspended Tulsi’s Google Ads account..

Google has 90% of the search engine market share worldwide.

“Google’s discriminatory actions against my campaign,” Gabbard told The New York Times, “are reflective of how dangerous their complete dominance over internet search is, and how the increasing dominance of big tech companies over our public discourse threatens our core American values. This is a threat to free speech, fair elections, and to our democracy, and I intend to fight back on behalf of all Americans.”

It’s interesting to see that the internet aristocracy is targeting not only conservatives but also democrats who don’t have “approved by the management” stamp on their forehead.

Even if a $50 million lawsuit means nothing to Google, the gentlemen who run that company need to rethink the way they use the publicly-traded corporation to advance their private agenda. This lawsuit is just a first step in a marathon run, and there’s going to be many more runners joining the race.

It won’t surprise me to see multiple class-actions against Google (and other internet giants). It happened to the tobacco industry, and it can happen again, this time to the internet Barrons who think that no one can touch them.

Well, we will see what the next decade or two will bring us. As Steve Jobs said: “The future is long.” So, let’s take a seat and enjoy the action.

Tucker Carlson On Robert Mueller Hearings

A Quick Thought.

Tucker Carlson: 7/24/2019

It was depressing to watch. Mueller seems deeply confused, at times confused about why he was there. Repeatedly struggles to hear the questions he was being asked. When he did hear them, is answers often revealed he was not familiar at all with the report that bears his name.

Tucker Carlson

Mueller deflected questions over 150 times.
The number of times;

  • Mueller said the questions were outside his “purview”: 10
  • Mueller asked lawmakers to repeat their questions: 30
  • Mueller simply directed lawmakers back to his report: 34
  • Mueller said he “can’t” or “won’t” get into the substance of the question: 99

I’d like to know if Mr. Mueller read his own (or Weissmann) report. After his statement that he is not familiar with Fusion GPS, I have doubts.

Lashana Lynch Is New 007… Temporary Replacement

Martini got shaken and seriously disturbed. Is this the attempt to assassinate Bond? James Bond?

Bond 25

The movie hasn’t been made yet, but due to my extensive connections (?) in show business, I’ve got a short version of the movie plot which I’m going to share with you.

Do not panic. James Bond, the handsome guy with a gun, has not died yet. He decided to go on vacation in Jamaica, and some cute woman got a part-time gig, pretending to be 007 so that the real Bond could rest a little and recharge his batteries.

Off course, the life of a spy is not simple. Because the temporary 007 (the cute one), due to lack of training and glaring incompetents, is unable to perform her duties at the required level, real 007 (the handsome one) is called off his vacation.

Being forced to cut his Jamaican vacations short makes him mad as hell, and the kind of welcome he receives when landing in MI6 headquarters doesn’t help. The temporary 007 (the cute one) doesn’t want to return his 007 jerseys back to him.

After short argument inside the supervisor’s office, Bond pulls out his historic Walther PPK and skillfully places two .380 slugs in the temporary’s 007 (the cute one’s) forehead, inducing irreparable damage to the brain matter what in effect causes her to drop dead.

The supervisor fixes double martini (shaken, not stirred) in an effort to calm real 007 (the handsome one) down.

In the end, everything gets back to normal. Temporary 007 (the cute one) ends up in the plastic bag, real 007 (the handsome one) takes his jerseys back and then, after clearing his throat with a big glass of martini, gets back to work cleaning the mess the temporary 007 (the cute one) has created, providing this way the material for the next movie.

The End

Who’s next?

It looks like people at Bond franchise are testing the waters. They want to know how far they can go if it comes to reinventing Bond’s character. If the audience will like the idea of cute 007 and the movie will become successful, the next Bond will be very different from the rest of them…

Eddie Izzard is my choice to be the next full-time James Bond. He can be scary as hell and he looks good in a dress.

Imam Mohammad Tawhidi to Rep. Ayanna Pressley

Sounds to me like:

We don’t need people who think for themselves.

A Quick Rebuke.

Imam Mohammad Tawhidi:

Who the hell are you to say which Muslim has the right to speak?

Imam Mohammad Tawhidi

In response to this Rep. Ayanna Pressley speech:

I don’t want to bring a chair to an old table. This is the time to shake the table. This is the time to redefine that table. Because if you’re going to come to this table, all of you who have aspirations of running for office. If you’re not prepared to come to that table and represent that voice, don’t come, because we don’t need any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice. We don’t need black faces that don’t want to be a black voice. We don’t need Muslims that don’t want to be a Muslim voice. We don’t need queers that don’t want to be a queer voice. If you’re worried about being marginalized and stereotyped, please don’t even show up because we need you to represent that voice.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley

So,

  • What exactly is a Muslim voice? I need some specifics.
  • What exactly is a black or brown or queer voice?
  • What standards should I adhere to if I want to speak for any of those groups?
  • Who sets those standards?

Imam Mohammad Tawhidi doesn’t care for any of those questions. He took a different kind of approach; He told miss Pressley to get lost. I like the simplicity of this approach.

Favorability of the squad:

The Economist ( July 14 – 16, 2019 )

Interestingly, although The Squad members are not as popular as mainstream media want us to believe they are. It doesn’t prevent them from trying to dictate, who and what can or can not to say.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN),

Favorable: 25%
Unfavorable: 34%
Don’t know: 41%
Net: (-9%)

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY),

Favorable: 33%
Unfavorable: 41%
Don’t know: 26%
Net: (-8%)

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI),

Favorable: 24%
Unfavorable: 31%
Don’t know: 45%
Net: (-7%)

Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA).

Favorable: 22%
Unfavorable: 18%
Don’t know: 60%
Net: +4%

It seems to me that Rep. Ayanna Pressley and few others who think exactly like her are trying to assume control over that imaginary table (which I believe represents Democrat Party) and then will decide who will be allowed even to get close to it. I wonder if members of the old guard, like Pelosi or Schumer, will get an invitation.

Sen. John Kennedy On Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez And Her Squad.

A Quick Thought.

Sen. John Kennedy: 7/16/2019

The so-called “squad” thinks that America was wicked in its origins & is even more wicked today. They’re entitled to their opinion, but I’m entitled to my opinion too, & I think they’re left-wing cranks. They’re the reason there are directions on shampoo bottles.

Sen. John Kennedy

The squad:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY),
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN),
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI),
Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA).

Video

It was brutal.

I’m sure that now these ladies hate senator John Kennedy more than losing internet connection while tweeting. He invented a name that will stick to them like chewing gum.

Facebook Announces – Libra Cryptocurrency Set For Public Launch Next Year

Another cryptocurrency is coming.
It’s called Libra.

There are over 2500 cryptos up there, why should we be excited about the addition of another one? What’s so unique about this specific new coin? Creators claim that their product is much better than anything else up there (I’ve heard that before). They say it’s fast, secure and very cheap to use. I’m not impressed. NANO and Stellar are very fast, so is Ripple. Do you want to keep your info secure? Use Monero or Gash. If you’re a cheapskate, IOTA is perfect for you – transactions are free.

First problem:
Can we trust it?

So, who is the creator of that “better” cryptocurrency, you ask? Well, I’m talking about FACEBOOK. Yes, Facebook – the company which somehow caused more than 540 million records about its users to be publicly exposed on Amazon’s cloud computing service (and it’s not the only security problem they had), is venturing into (crypto) financial market, by building Cryptocurrency-Based Payments System with Libra in the center of it.

Libra White Paper. ( You should read this. )

With Facebook security record (much) less than ideal, the head of company’s blockchain division, David Marcus, works hard to make it sure, that it’s clear to everyone, particularly U.S. lawmakers, that the social media giant, will not have access to Libra users private financial data, and that multiple entities will govern new currency.

Facebook won’t fully control Libra, but instead get just a single vote in its governance like other founding members of the Libra Association, including Visa, Uber, and Andreessen Horowitz, which have invested at least $10 million each into the project’s operations.

Founding members of the Libra Association:

Facebook plans to have 100 governing members with a minimum of $10 Million each invested in the Libra system. In exchange, investors will receive Libra investment tokens (not Libra currency token, which will be available to everybody).

Facebook works very hard to convince people that Libra is not just another tool they’re going to use to collect data on users.

The Libra Blockchain and Libra Reserve need a governing entity that is comprised of diverse and independent members. This governing entity is the Libra Association, an independent, not-for-profit membership organization, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

Libra White Paper

So, Libra is an independent ecosystem governed by an independent association of diverse and independent members registered in a neutral Switzerland with an independent banking system. It’s obvious; Libra is independent. Totally independent. I totally get it.

Second problem:
Libra is a large body of new code.

New and different. Even the concepts of how blocks are built and chained are radically different than what’s already in use and been tested. New and unproven, always equals problems (that includes security problems) because no matter how good the developers are and no matter how hard they try, a new code is always riddled with bugs. It’s nothing unusual, that’s just the way it is, but if developers aren’t able to deal with all those problems promptly, people will soon view the new financial services ecosystem, as just an offshoot of old distrusted Facebook and will start to worry about the possibility of security leaks.

Third problem:
A reserve of real assets backs Libra.

What are the real assets that will be backing each Libra coin?

The actual assets will be a collection of low-volatility assets, including bank deposits and government securities in currencies from stable and reputable central banks.

Libra White Paper

The part I don’t like is: “Government securities.”
Let me explain why.
It looks like Libra is backed up by a portfolio of securities, which make entire set up look like a mutual fund or ETF with Libras acting as shares of the fund. If some politician somewhere shares my way of thinking and Libra will end up as securities, it can cause some problems.

For example: Buying 100 Libras, then using 35 Libras to pay for a pair of ultra high-quality hiking socks, could be viewed as a securities transaction and be treated as a taxable event which needs to be reported. The requirement of sending tax forms to the government every time I buy new underwear is not my idea of shopping on the internet.

I have some other concerns.

Social media are known for banning people from using their platforms for posting unpopular political opinions. Unfortunately, Facebook is one of them.

What is going to happen if someone will use Libra to pay for something “unpopular” like oversized sex toys or Rush Limbaugh’s book? Will that Libra-user be punished? For example, by sloooow transaction speed, or maybe not being able to connect to the system for a couple of days.

Somehow I have a strong feeling; the probability of that happening is quite real.

Last thought.

Despite all the potential problems I’ve mentioned above, I think that Libra has a chance to turn out to be very useful for many people and to become popular. As a skeptic, I don’t plan to become an early adopter, but I’ll be watching closely. Although I don’t expect any severe mishap to occur, I’m going to listen to President Reagan advice: “Trust but verify,” and verifying is going to take some time.

UPDATES:

11 October, 2019 — EBay, Stripe, Mastercard, Visa and Mercado Pago are all dropping out of Facebook’s libra cryptocurrency project

04 October, 2019 — Payments firm PayPal has become the first company to pull out of an alliance that is trying to launch Facebook’s digital currency Libra.

Mark Levin On Immigration

A Quick Thought.

They destroying our immigration system.

Mark Levin: 7/09/2019

This is all intended as a radical plan. Cloward and Piven. Alinsky tactics. Overwhelm the system. Create the chaos and the anarchy, then condemn it. Condemn the law. Condemn the president. Condemn the ideas of a wall. And then eventually you’ll get what you want. That is exactly what’s happening on the southern border. That is exactly what’s happening on the issue of immigration, right in front of your eyes

Mark Levin

Democrats are great. The way they handle the (illegal) immigration is spectacular. I use their method regularly in my everyday life.

First:

  • I create the problem,
  • blame the problem on someone else,
  • complain that someone else isn’t doing enough to fix the problem,

when at the same time,

  • I do my best to prevent people I’ve just blamed for creating the problem, from fixing it.

Works every time. With stupid people.

Ross Perot Dead at the Age 89

Ross Perot, the ground-breaking businessman and loving husband, brother, father and grandfather, passed away early Tuesday at his home in Dallas, surrounded by his devoted family.

Born: June 27, 1930
Died: July 9, 2019

A family spokesman said leukemia was the cause of death.

Nike Employs New Business Model Strategy: Anti-Americanism, And Betsy Ross Is Turning Over In Her Grave.

I don’t have a problem with Colin Kaepernick being ignorant. I have a problem with the management of publicly traded corporation being ignorant.

Or maybe they (the management) are not…

Who is Colin Kaepernick?
Former quarterback turned social-justice-warrior whose business model is to look for reasons to be offended and then blow them out of proportion. He uses created energy to inflate his ego, his wallet, and the number of likes on his Facebook page.

Who was Betsy Ross?
Upholsterer in Philadelphia the creator of the first flag of the United States of America ( Congress officially issued this flag on June 14, 1777 ), the one which Kaepernick views as an offensive symbol of slavery.

What is Nike?
Google it. 🙂

So, what is the problem?

A few days ago, the Betsy Ross flag was the symbol of patriotism and defiance against a distant monarchy. The symbol that Nike has proudly used in its new, patriotic line of shoes: the special-edition USA-themed Air Max 1.

Today, according to Mr. Kaepernick and Nike management who decided to support him in attacking First official US flag, it symbolizes:

A) Slavery – because of its connection to an era of slavery,
and
B) White supremacy – because it was appropriated by some white nationalist groups.

A)
So, because that flag design was created and used during the era of slavery, it somehow symbolizes support of slavery and should never see the light of the day ever again? How about other things created and used during that time, should we remove them all from our lives?

How about art? People who were slaves contributed hugely to this field. Should we destroy all the works of David Drake because someone feels offended that his pots sell today for tens of thousands of dollars, and Mr. Drake, an enslaved potter, wasn’t adequately compensated for his work? Should we forget music or poetry of that era because of the possibility that someone will feel offended by it?

Maybe we should go all the way with this insanity and delegitimize outcome of the Civil War because it was fought during the era of slavery.

B)
I don’t follow the logic behind an attack on an innocent symbol, a flag, because a handful of hate groups decided to use it as a representation of their “brand.” A flag can not control who and how uses it.

Not long ago, I had a pleasure of seeing a couple of extremely good looking ladies at the beach wearing ultra tiny bikinis made out of the British flag. Should we recognize the British flag as a symbol of the sexualization of women? I don’t think so.

Should Nike be held responsible for the actions of crazy people who use Nike products? Of course not. The neo-Nazis buying Nike snickers don’t make Nike a champion of white supremacy movement.

What really is it about?

It’s all about busine$$ and attention.

Colin Kaepernick had a good start in NFL but for some reason couldn’t keep it going (I’m no football expert, so instead of explaining what I mean, I’ll give you a couple of links: First and Second). When he realized that his pro-football career was going nowhere fast, he decided to do something to keep himself inside the money-making circuit. The easiest way to achieve that goal was to become controversial.

He started with kneeling for the National Anthem, and now…

Mr. Kaepernick doesn’t give a rat’s rear end that as a consequence of his actions, the Betsy Ross Flag, a symbol of unity and (as some say) of giving the middle finger to the oppressors – the monarchy, is being turned into a symbol of oppression – the slavery. He needed controversy, so he had created one.

No one viewed the Betsy Ross Flag as offensive, (it was prominently featured during Obama’s second swearing-in ceremony,) till Colin Kaepernick, after a highly detailed and grueling investigation, uncovered the long kept secret. Something no one knew. … The Betsy Ross Flag represented The United States of America, as early as in 1777, and that, according to Kaepernick, renders the flag unacceptable because of the “connection to an era of slavery.”

Nike’s stock is going up

Now, let’s talk about another component of this latest controversy – NIKE, a very successful sports apparel company. Nike is doing great, especially in China, which is Nike’s best performing geographical market, with still enormous untapped potential for expansion. That untapped potential is in the center of Nike’s attention. They want it all, but to be successful, they need to make Nike the most popular brand among people in charge of China’s economy. Bashing the US of A is the easiest and the most cost-effective way to achieve that goal.

This is where social-justice-warrior Colin Kaepernick comes in.

Because members of Nike’s management don’t want to do bashing by themselves, they hired Mr.Kaepernick to perform all the dirty work for them, so in case Nike’s marketing plan backfires,

  • they will drop all the blame on the spokesman,
  • they will fire him,
  • they will issue an apology ( adding something like: he used us to promote his private agenda ),
  • they will hire new, this time patriotic spokesman or better yet spokeswoman,

and everything will go back to business as usual. Nike’s stock will go up and Mr. Kaepernick, though he will look like an idiot, will still end up with some serious cash in his pocket.

So, what’s wrong with the Betsy Ross Flag?

Absolutely nothing. The Betsy Ross Flag got caught in the middle of this fiasco probably by accident. It could be something else, a profile of historical figure or a short quote like “In God We Trust.”

The flag isn’t racist, Betsy Ross wasn’t racist, there’s nothing offensive about the flag or its designer. The only wrong I see here is a bunch of people creating controversy around the national symbol to make money off of it.

That is sad. That’s sad because it looks like that major US corporation successfully managed to do what bunch of different hate groups were unable to do: it turned the Betsy Ross flag into a racist symbol. Congratulation NIKE, keep on the excellent work.

Vote For Me and I’ll Give You Everything For Free – Everything!!!

Ladies and gentleman, I would like to announce that I’ve decided to run for public office. I don’t know which one yet, but I know it’s going to be public.

My program is simple. Instead of coming up with my own plan or solution to a problem created by some earlier project, I’m going to go on record as a supporter of someone else’s idea. As a next step, I will relax and watch them fight to implement it. That way, when they succeed – I’m a winner. When they fail – I can say that I was misunderstood and have never supported the idea.

In the business of coming up with new solutions to old solutions, no one can beat the Washington Establishment. There’s no reason to waste my energy. It’s smart to let others do the work.

So, here it goes. …

I support Senator Elizabeth Warren and her plan to forgive College debt.

It’s a great idea; higher education should be free. I believe that everyone should go to college, get all the degrees and PhDs, and then stay in college to teach all the newcomers who will show up to get their degrees and PhDs, so they can help older teachers prepare the younger generation of feature college teachers. In a couple of decades, everyone will be either teaching or studying in college, and the United States will become the smartest nation on earth.

When it comes to covering the cost of Student Loan Forgiveness Program, which at the moment reaches $1.5 Trillion, and all the future expenses, I will tax the rich. You know, people who instead of staying in college, decided to do something useful, and made some money in the process. (Luckily, those people are always around).

I support Sen. Bernie Sanders’ “Medicare for All” proposal.

Great idea. The government-funded health care system is the way to go. Instead of all that competition mumbo-jumbo, everything will be run from Washington DC by highly trained professional bureaucrats. People will not need to worry about which doctor to choose or which hospital to visit. Health care managers will make decisions according to patient worthiness to society.

For instance, if the probability of a patient being able to go back to work (example: teaching in college) after medical treatment will be rated as high (example: young drug addict in need of rehab), the patient will be taken care off.

On another hand, if a patient will receive a low rating from the health care account manager (example: senior citizen in need of hip replacement), that patient will be respectfully sent home with a high-quality aluminum walker. If the health care official happens to be in a good mood, set of audible books from Amazon will be added as a bonus, and the lucky patient will have something to listen to when sitting at home (reading will be out of question because as a senior citizen the patient won’t be eligible to receive glasses).

Managers will be responsible for keeping spending at a minimum, and waste of financial resources; will not be tolerated.

When it comes to covering the cost of “Medicare for All”, which at the moment is estimated in the range of about $25 trillion to $35 trillion over 10 years, I will tax the rich. You know, people who instead of waiting for free health care, decided to do something useful, made some money and bought their own medical insurance. (Luckily, those people are always around).

I support Andrew Yang’s Universal Basic Income (UBI).

I case you didn’t know, he is running for President as a Democrat in 2020. He runs because he fears for the future of our country.

Universal Basic Income for every American is a great idea. Every American over the age of 18 will get $1,000 a month, for no reason whatsoever and with no strings attached. We all love free money. The more, the better. Andy, you’re the man!

The program will be “paid for by a new tax on the companies benefiting most from automation,” because automation is terrible, and we need to tax it, and “by implementing a Value-Added Tax (VAT) of 10%” which will cause our economy to explode, because higher taxes are always great for growth.

When it comes to covering the cost of “Universal Basic Income” program, which at the moment is estimated to reach $30 trillion over ten years, even with 10% VAT, “automation tax” and a couple of other sources of revenue, I will still tax the rich. You know, people who instead of waiting for their guaranteed payments of $1,000 per month, decided to do something useful, and are making much more than $1,000 per month. (Luckily, those people are always around).

I agree with Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Andrew Yang, Pete Buttigieg, Kirsten Gillibrand, Michael Bennet, Marianne Williamson, John Hickenlooper, and Eric Swalwell that all illegal aliens should get free health care coverage.

I love this idea because this is a much better option for our senior citizens than Medicare for All that I’ve mentioned above. Instead of dealing with all those highly trained professional bureaucrats, all a senior citizen will need to do to receive quality health care, will be showing up in the nearby hospital and then pretend not to speak English. To be on a safe side, a senior citizen should also make sure that his cash and ID stayed home.

I Have no idea how much it is going to cost. According to Chris Conover, from Duke University’s Center for Health Policy and Inequalities Research, in 2018, American taxpayers shell out nearly $20 billion for health care for illegal immigrants, but with the addition of all those temporarily illegal senior citizens, that number will multiply very quickly.

When it comes to covering the cost of free health care coverage for illegal aliens (and senior citizens), even without any realistic estimate, I will still, guess what, tax the rich. You know, people who have too much money. (Luckily, those individuals are always around).

I intended to support Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Ed Markey Green New Deal, but. …

It looks like not everyone out there is as excited or dedicated to this new green deal as Rep. Ocasio-Cortez:

It will be one of several or maybe many suggestions that we receive, The green dream, or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they’re for it, right?

Nancy Pelosi

And the vocabulary used in this document needs a little improvement:

We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast, but we think we can ramp up renewable manufacturing and power production, retrofit every building in America, build the smart grid, overhaul transportation and agriculture, plant lots of trees and restore our ecosystem to get to net-zero.

Green New Deal FAQ
Page 2
Full text of FAQ

I don’t believe it’s proper to use the word “farting” in any text submitted to the US Congress.

A recent analysis from the American Action Forum estimated that Ocasio-Cortez’s plan would cost $93 trillion, but there’s not much specifics out there about funding, and the draft text on Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s website says that:

the majority of financing of the plan shall be accomplished by the federal government.

Hopefully, the federal government will raise the money the same way I would: by taxing the rich. You know, people who have too much money. Way too much money (Luckily, those guys and girls are always around).

Because of these few minor problems, I decided to suspend my support of Ocasio-Cortez / Markey ambitious green plan, until further notice.

Now when you all know whom and what I support, I sail off to Hawaii.
