Israel Declared Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib Personae Non-Gratae

Because of the sustained support of Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) for the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, the government of Israel notified Representatives Omar and Tlaib Wednesday night (08/14/19) that they would not be allowed entry to the country.

President’s tweet

Shortly before the decision of Israeli government became public, Pres. Trump used Twitter to expressed his support.

Rep. Omar statement

Because the president’s tweet appeared on Twitter before the official statement from Israeli government was made public, Rep. Omar assumed that the tweet was a reason for the denied entry.

I don’t think that’s the case. I’m sure that President Trump knew about the decision before it was made available for public consumption and accidentally posted his support a little too early (What can I say? The man isn’t perfect 🙂 ).

I’m sure that if the Pres. Trump wanted to pressure Israeli Prime Minister to do something, he would call him on the phone. I have a filling that our president has Netanyahu’s number on speed dial.

The last thought

Sitting in my little corner of reality, I see two ladies – members of U.S. Congress who decided to use their positions to support a boycott of another country. Then when another country chose to boycott them, they complain…
Go figure.
