Dr. Drew Pinsky Debunks the Fake Coronavirus News

It is refreshing to hear someone with common sense and respect for facts.

Infectious disease specialists, the CDC, the epidemiologist need to take this very seriously. The press needs to shut up.

Dr. Drew Pinsky.

Coronavirus? The overblown press-created hysteria.

No one is suggesting that we should stop paying attention to COVID-19 and live our lives like nothing is happening. But, at the same time, we should avoid panic and keep things in perspective.

We have zero deaths from coronavirus. We have almost no cases. There are people walking around out there with the virus that don’t even know they have it, it’s so mild. So it’s going to be much more widespread than we knew. It’s going to be much milder than we knew. The 1.7% fatality rate is going to fall. Where was the press during the Mediterranean Corona outbreak, where the fatality rate was 41%? Why didn’t they get crazed about MERS or SARS? This is an overblown press-created hysteria.

Dr. Drew Pinsky

Amen to this.

The last thought.

I’m sure that there’s going to be more cases of SARS-CoV-2 infections in the United States. Hopefully, no one will die. We should take all the necessary precautions, but we shouldn’t surrender to this virus and put our lives on hold.

To keep things in perspective. CDC estimates that so far this season, there have been at least 32 million flu illnesses, 310,000 hospitalizations, and 18,000 deaths from flu.
